Meet the Yorkie of your dreams...
at NC Yorkie Rescue!

In order to adopt one of our rescues, you must first fill out an Adoption Application located at on the Home Page under the "Online Forms" tab.
This form gathers information about your expectations of pet ownership and helps us determine which of our wonderful Yorkies might best suit your lifestyle.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group dedicated to helping and finding "Forever Homes" for every Yorkie!

Every time you adopt a pet from NC Yorkie Rescue, Inc., you enable us to save the life of another orphaned or surrendered Yorkie in need...finding a great companion has never been easier!

Our adoption fees are based on the age and size of each yorkie. Upon adoption of one of our yorkies, you will receive their recent and up-to date vacine record, along with a rabies tag (if one is available).  The yorkie will always be spayed or neutered if they are old enough in the case of a puppy!  We donot supply their AKC or CKC certificate.  Yorkies can be a "high maintenance" pet, so please keep in mind you may spend anywhere between $500 to $1,500 per year to keep your pup in tip top shape before you consider adopting.  Yorkies can easily live over fifteen years, remember that as well since this will be a lifetime commitment.

Thank you for your desire to adopt a rescued Yorkie, and please remember to always spay and neuter your pets!

Shih Tzu

Adult Male

Ramsey is a precious male yorkie shih Tzu.  He is a truly amazing little guy who was able to bounce back after horrible abuse.  When our rescue found Ramsey, he was coated in fleas, very malnourished, anemic from the fleas and very under weight.  After three flea baths and a flea pill that is supposed to kill fleas within 30 minutes, they were finally starting die.  He was skin and bones and  had a large, protruding hernia on the back end of his body.  In order to have the hernia repaired, he needed to become healthy and gain weight in order to survive the surgery.  After two months in rescue, he was a new man!  He was wagging his tail, loved going for walks, thoroughly enjoyed those long belly rubs and reveled in all the attention he was receiving!  How could anyone treat this delightful little guy this way?  Not to mention someone poking him in the eye with something that severely damaged his left eye!    He is still a remarkable and resilient little fellow and will make an outstanding companion.  Still wary of children, Ramsey will do best in an adult only home.  He has been fully vetted, and up to date on all of his vaccines

You must have an approved application on file which you can find at under the 'Online Forms' tab.
